The mojo has been lacking over the last 3 weeks or so. Little motivation to train was the common theme leading up to and after the Brazil Fast race. It didn't help that I got some sort of food virus in Brazil. It got a free flight all the way back to Victoria with me so that it could inflict explosive diarrhea on me for a week. It has taken me a full two weeks to finally feel a 100% and now that I am better I think my mojo has returned.
On a side note, the Brazil race did not go well. Austin and I ate something tainted the night before making for a terrible night and a couple of weary bodies come go time. Even if we were 100% though I don't think it would have made us a contender. THe other countries were strong and seemed prepared for the fast twitch racing. THe run in and exit from the water killed me, each race I got dropped running to the bikes. As Jeff so aptly put it after round 1 with a smile..'it's like men racing against boys'.
This week has been a better week. Swimming feels back on and some solid hilly riding is getting done on a regular basis. Tomorrow we are helping out Pacific Sport at the Living Colours event being held at the Victoria Conference Centre. It is a huge convention set up to display all of Victoria's sport, art, and community groups to the public in celebration of the upcoming 2010 Olympics.
Watching the Tour of California at the moment online. Tuft is sitting in 2nd on the prologue, go Svein. Tomorrow they ride in San Fran over the Golden Gate bridge, should be iconic. To play in the versus fantasy tour go here.. Daily prizes awarded so your not to late to start! My pick for the overall title would be Kim Kirchen.
Happy Valentines!
